Description
A scarce if not rare porcelain figurine of a Weimaraner dog, hallmarked by Bohemia Ceramic Works, Neurohlau. Bohemia, Czechoslovakia, in business from 1921-1945. The hallmark on this piece dates its production to between 1941 and 1945. This company was eventually incorporated into the Rosenthal group. This piece is not large but it is lovely. The dog wears a collar, has the docked tail typical of the breed, and the lovely coat color that is so distinctive. The dog is mounted onto a porcelain base beneath which the hallmark appears. It is impressed with the numbers 11 in that area. The quality and workmanship of this piece is very reminiscent of Rosenthal and could easily be mistaken for the work of that company. A fine piece! Measures 3" tall by 2 3/8:\" long. No chips, cracks, repairs or restorations. Please enlarge and examine all photos carefully as they are considered part of the description.
